Supabase
PostgreSQL-powered backend-as-a-service — how we get MVPs to market faster.
Supabase gives a new product the backend essentials — database, authentication, storage, and real-time updates — without weeks of infrastructure work. That is why it shows up in so many of our MVP builds.
Underneath, it is PostgreSQL: a real relational database you own, not a proprietary data store you will fight to leave. If your product outgrows Supabase’s hosted services, your data and schema come with you.
When we reach for Supabase
MVPs on a deadline
When the goal is a working product in weeks, Supabase removes the backend boilerplate so the budget goes into what makes your product different.
Auth and user management
Sign-up, login, password resets, social auth — solved problems we would rather configure well than rebuild from scratch.
Real-time product features
Live dashboards and collaborative features built on Supabase’s real-time subscriptions, backed by PostgreSQL underneath.
Mid-complexity applications
Products that need a proper database, auth, and an API — but not a fully custom backend and the team to maintain one.
How we work with it
We use Supabase where it accelerates and custom services where it constrains. A typical setup: Supabase for data, auth, and storage, with a small Node.js service for the business logic that does not belong in the database.
Because Supabase is PostgreSQL, the discipline carries over from our custom backend work: deliberate schema design, row-level security actually configured, and migrations under version control from the first week.
